Range rings and a recommended laydown against drones, cruise and ballistic missiles — point defence counted at two launch units per site, overlaid on the updated Cold War target list.
Rings are drawn at each system's nominal maximum kinematic range, a planning proxy, not a guaranteed kill envelope.
CAMM / CAMM-ER (Sky Sabre) — point/local defence vs drones, aircraft and cruise missiles, counted at 2 launch units per site (72 total: 32 UK + 24 army + 12 overseas + 4 spare). Inner ring 25 km (CAMM), outer 45 km (CAMM-ER). Not a ballistic interceptor.
Patriot PAC-3 MSE — ~120 km vs air-breathing threats; its footprint against ballistic missiles is considerably smaller and trajectory-dependent.
THAAD — ~200 km area BMD vs short/medium-range ballistic missiles; limited value against low, slow drones.
SHORAD / C-UAS — the bottom layer beneath each Sky Sabre site: 2–4 units (guns, VSHORAD missiles, directed energy) sized by the site's importance; ~200 in total including the field-army Stormer replacement. The counter-drone close-in kill.
Against low-flying cruise missiles and drones, radar line-of-sight caps engagement well inside the kinematic ring unless elevated/airborne sensors are added. Counts are a first-order greedy set-cover minimum, siting batteries on land; real laydowns need overlap, reloads, attrition and 24/7 rotation, so treat these as a floor.
